2024 Back-to-School Planning

Dear St. Michael's Families,

I hope this note finds you and your family enjoying some summertime fun with each other and loved ones. With the calendar nearing the end of July, I wanted to reach out to ensure you have everything you will need as you begin to think about Back to School time. All around campus, faculty, staff, and friends of the School have been busy working to prepare for an exciting 2024–2025 school year.

Below you will find important updates and information. Please note that several more communications will be sent out later in August with Lower School Meet Your Teacher Day and Middle School Orientation details, first week of school info, carpool instructions, and more, so please stay tuned to your email.

Back to School Basics

Be sure to visit and bookmark stmschool.net/community/summerback-to-school as your comprehensive home for supply lists, summer assignments, dress code information, campus maps, carpool maps, Back-to-School information, and more.

Dress Code Note: For the 2024-25 school year, Crocs are not permissible footwear in the St M dress code as the loose fit poses a safety risk on the playground and on our campus trails.

School Hours (Starting Tuesday, August 27)

Tuesday, August 27 is the first FULL day of school for ALL students. St. Michael’s school day hours for the 2024-25 school year are: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free Morning Gym beginning at 7:20 a.m. (Drop-off in the Gym parking lot)
If not attending Morning Gym, the morning drop-off window is 7:45-7:55 a.m. (Students should be in their seats and ready to start the school day by 8 a.m.)
Afternoon pickup is between 3 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. (Any students not picked up by 3:15 p.m. will be sent to Extended Day and applicable drop-in fees will apply.)

Academic Calendar for the 2024-2025 School Year: IMPORTANT UPDATE

Based on valuable feedback from families and faculty, St M has revised the 2024-25 Academic Calendar to streamline the final weeks of school and incorporate additional events and information.

Closing ceremonies will now be held exclusively for eighth graders in celebration of their graduation. Please review the updated academic calendar carefully below. Changes are highlighted in red.

Spiritwear Website and Back-to-School Pop-Up Shop

Be sure to check out our School spiritwear website for exciting St M apparel. Sizing info is included with each item.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you order apparel at the online shop (button link below) by THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, your items will be ready for pick-up at our Back-To-School Pop-Up Shop on August 22 and 26!
Stay tuned for more info on the Pop-Up Shop. We have LOTS of exciting new items. Show your DRAGON PRIDE and come ready to shop! PLEASE NOTE SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED! (Given the wide range of sizes, apparel items should be ordered directly from the website below. That said, we will also have some t-shirts and sweatshirts in both youth and adult sizes for sale at the Pop-Up Shop!)

Show your Dragon pride! FRIDAYS at St M are Dragon Dress Days, whereby students and faculty may wear St M apparel above the waist. We love seeing all the blue and white on our students!

Hot Lunch Program

We’re excited to welcome back our lunchtime partner, School House Fare. School House Fare offers an easy-to-choose Lunch Calendar where you can schedule lunches for the next week or the entire semester.

Lunch ordering for the 2024-25 school year will open on August 13, 2024.

The first date of lunch delivery will be Tuesday, August 29, the first full day of school.

The restaurant lineup for the fall is as follows:

Mondays – Chicken Fiesta
Tuesdays – Chick-fil-A
Wednesdays – Mellow Mushroom
Thursdays – Eggs Up
Fridays – Jersey Mikes

IMPORTANT NOTE: Every day of the school year, ALL students should bring a water bottle and nut-free snack.

Back to School Health and Info Forms DUE August 1

St. Michael's collects all student medical information via our secure online database. Parents must enter and update the required information for each child this summer through the Magnus Health online portal (instructions below) accessed from your PowerSchool Parent account.

Please complete these required forms ASAP if your family has not already done so.

Carpool AND Placard Requests Due by August 9

Will your family be part of an organized carpool for the 2024-25 school year? If so, St. Michael's needs you to submit your carpool information to the School via the link below NO LATER THAN NOON on Friday, AUGUST 9, so that participating families can be assigned to the same carpool loop.

To ensure clarity and student safety, ALL FAMILIES INVOLVED IN A CARPOOL MUST SUBMIT A REQUEST.
As well, if your family needs MORE THAN 2 carpool placards, please complete this form.

Directory Updates Needed by September 1
Did you move this summer? Has your email or phone number changed? Do you want School communications to go to a new email address?

Please send any changes by Sunday, September 1, as we are finalizing the School directory. Returning families need only to review their current listing (in last year's directory) and forward all new/corrected information via the form in the button below. Thank you!
