Presidential search update: Candidate B visit this week
The Presidential Search Advisory Committee announced Saturday that the first of three finalist candidates withdrew from the search. As a result, all meetings associated with Candidate A, including the campus forum planned for Tuesday, Feb. 7, have been canceled. Candidates B and C will visit campus as planned. Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to hear a presentation from each candidate and ask questions on Thursday, Feb. 9, and on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The CV, cover letter and feedback survey for each finalist will be posted to the Presidential Search web page located on the Board of Trustees site 24 hours prior to their individual campus interviews. All feedback surveys will be available through Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.

Register for ‘Sex and Chocolate’ with SHAC
The Center for Student Health and Counseling (SHAC)’s Health Promotion Department (WHAT, Illuminate, and Peer Support Services) are hosting their 6th annual Sex & Chocolate event on Thursday, Feb. 9 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., via Zoom. This virtual event creates a safe environment for students, staff/faculty, and community members to explore the topics of sexual health, sexuality, and consent through a panel discussion. Anyone can register for the event to receive the Zoom link.

Campus Rec offers virtual fitness classes
Add joyful movement into your schedule with flexible, virtual options at Campus Rec! Live virtual Group X classes on Zoom are free and open to all Portland State students, faculty, and staff. All you need is a PSU email in order to securely access the Zoom classes. Tune in to virtual classes from the comfort of your home, or take your workout outside on a nice day. Go at your own pace, with your camera on or off, while our knowledgeable and motivational instructors guide you through class.

Were you inspired over winter break to clean out your closet? Why not donate to the Resource Center for Students with Children's Shop for Free Event? We are seeking new and very gently used items such as toys, children’s books, housewares, school supplies, and clothing of all sizes (including adults). If you have gently used items you don't want anymore, please bring donations to SMSU 462 during drop-in hours, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. by Feb. 8. Questions? Jim Hibbard, former PSU art professor, dies at 86
Jim Hibbard, an important NW artist and teacher, passed away at home, age 86 on May 3, 2022. He was a professor at Portland State University from 1968 until 1985 where he headed PSU’s printmaking department. A focused retrospective of Hibbard’s work ‘Back in View’, organized by guest curator Christy Wyckoff, will open on May 6, 2023 and continue through Aug. 12, 2023 in the Study Gallery and Print Study Center at The Hallie Ford Museum of Art, on the campus of Willamette University, Salem, Oregon. The exhibition will include work from the collection of the Hallie Ford Museum, the artist’s estate, and loans from the Portland Art Museum.
