A Note From Your Campus CHRO, Terri Winbush |
People Leaders: For staff without ready access to email, please print and post a copy of this email.

As I shared in our recent Staff Town Hall, in moments like these when the weight of the world feels especially heavy, it’s natural to feel a range of emotions - for some, joy and relief, and for others uncertainty, frustration, and even despair. As your Chief Human Resources Officer, I want to acknowledge those feelings openly and validate the impact that global events can have on each of us, while reminding you of the valuable assistance available to us through our Faculty and Staff Assistance Program.
We are also witnessing activity closer to home. Some of your colleagues may have been exercising their rights on campus since yesterday. They are allowed to do so in a respectful manner that doesn’t otherwise infringe upon anyone else’s right to come to work. Their expression is a reminder of the deeply human desire for dignity, fairness, and progress, and it is important to honor that while they do the same.
With everything that’s going on on top of our personal and professional day-to-day responsibilities, it’s important to find what keeps us grounded. As we approach Thanksgiving (for those who celebrate), I’ve been reflecting on the things that anchor me. For me, those things are gratitude and grace (as you’ve heard me talk about aplenty before, and I’ll keep banging on that drum till the end of time). Especially in the darkest of times, I choose to embrace gratitude for what I cherish most - my family at home, and my family at work - you.
I know it’s not the easiest to bring our best selves to work each day when navigating times like these. Yet, I want to encourage you to stay centered in respect and appreciation for one another. Let us remember that gratitude is the bond that glues us together, and grace is the strength that carries us through. Stay strong.

Lead with grace and courage,
Terri S. Winbush
Campus Chief Human Resources Officer

Timekeeping/Time Reporting |
An important reminder that all university non-faculty employees are required to submit their time worked, report absences, and/or acknowledge they have no absences to report by the deadlines established for each pay period. Accurate and complete time and leave reporting not only ensures that we get paid properly, but also that the university meets its obligations to pay for work performed while helping ensure the responsible use of public funds.
