When Centers (not a typo) for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) offers guidance to the public, we take it very seriously. CDC advice informs — but doesn’t supersede — university-specific policies. We’ve been successful (to the tune of a 0.1% positivity rate) at keeping on-campus Tritons safer while implementing our own protective measures, and will continue to do so.
Lose sleep over it.
Starting Sunday, Daylight Saving (not a typo) Time is on your side. Especially if you’re a mattress, in which case your overnight shift ends an hour earlier. Phones and computers will automatically Spring forward on March 14, but it can’t hurt to double-check — because you do NOT want to be late for finals!
Check your head(space).
And be kind to your mind. Our go-to meditation app, Headspace, is now free for UC San Diego students. This Monday, you’ll be able to register and take advantage of guided mindfulness sessions that combat anxiety, enhance relaxation, and improve sleep — maybe make up for that lost hour? — with your student login.
Surf or serve to prevent a surge.
In 2020, Spring (out)breaks at colleges across the country resulted in COVID surges coast-to-coast. It’s now a year later, and we’ve planned dozens of remote and (outdoor) in-person programs for you to enjoy as you stay safer by staying put. Check out the full schedule here.
