The year is off to a wonderful start! Together with BMC2 PCI and Vascular Surgery, we are celebrating the news that BMC2 received the prestigious 2023 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety and Quality Award in the Local Level Innovation in Patient Safety and Quality category. This award recognizes the impact we have as we collaborate to improve quality of care and patient outcomes.

| MAQI2 Works to Decrease Bleeding Risk In Patients On Warfarin And Aspirin After
PCI And TAVR

MyMichigan Health experienced an increase in post-TAVR heart failure admissions in 2019 and 2020. The team investigated why and developed a protocol that, when implemented, reduced heart failure admissions in the next six months to zero. Read this success story on our blog.

The Michigan Anticoagulation Quality Improvement Initiative (MAQI2) found that patients taking warfarin in combination with aspirin had twice the rate of bleeding with no clear clinical benefit, similar to other published literature. Read our blog to learn how they have reduced inappropriate aspirin use by 50% in participating clinics since 2018.

BMC2 2023 Annual Report Now Available - BMC2's annual report shares a snapshot of the quality improvement achievements across BMC2 Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Vascular Surgery, the Michigan Structural Heart Consortium (MISHC), and the Michigan Cardiac Rehab Network (MiCR).
