Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

Thank you choir, handbells, accompanists, and readers for sharing with us the "Light of Christmas." We were blessed by your talents and leadership in this special program and on every Sunday. If you missed the choir and handbell program, you can watch it here.
Our Christmas celebrations continue this Sunday, December 24 with our Christmas Eve service of song, scripture, candles and communion. We will offer this service at 10:00 am and again at 5:00 pm. The 5:00 pm service will be livestreamed. Sunday School will not meet.
Sunday, December 31 we will gather at 10:00 am for a service of carols and lessons.  Join us for coffee and donuts as we continue to celebrate the Christmas season and the gift of Emmanuel, God with us. Sunday School will not meet.
Church office closes at 1:00 pm Tuesday, Dec. 26-Thursday, Dec. 28.
We hope worship at Parkway Hills this Advent and Christmas season aids you in reflecting on the gift of Emmanuel, God with us, and we look forward to our continued worship together.

Worship during the Christmas season is always very meaningful, and we need your help to create inviting worship experiences.  We know the Christmas season is also always very busy and many are traveling or visiting family. If you will be in attendance for one of our Christmas Eve services or for our New Year's Eve Carols and Lessons service, click here to signup to participate. We need greeters for both Christmas Eve services (10 am and 5 pm) and greeters and readers for our New Year's Eve worship at 10 am. Thank you for your willingness to aid others in experiencing Christ in community this Christmas season.

Season's greetings,

As we celebrate the coming of Christ in this Advent season, the Mississippi Conference Extended Cabinet and I want to wish you a joyous Christmas.

In the coming new year, don’t miss the opportunity to participate in the 2024 Bible Challenge. Share the Word of God—the Good News of Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection—so that others may accept Jesus Christ. Now, that’s a gift worth sharing with everyone and in every season. Click here to watch our Christmas greeting.

Three vehicles full of presents for MadCAAP Adopt-a-Child were delivered this week! Thank you, Parkway Hills, for how you share joy with our neighbors! And thank you to the hardworking volunteers who made this project a success: Chere Peel, Richard Robbins, Connie Starkey, Megan Mawhorter, Tiffni Moss, Jessica Snyder, and Bess McGuire!
Back in April, we shared news with you about a plan being presented to the MS Annual Conference June session around rethinking and realigning our Districts. For a reminder of this plan, visit our April 19, 2023 newsletter here.  We approved the work of the District Realignment Team at Annual Conference and we are ready to live into the work of this team. See the news below that was shared with the East and West Jackson Districts of the MS Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
"We have an announcement which we hope will be a blessing to all who are a part of the Mississippi Conference. The 2023 Annual Conference approved a realignment of the district boundaries in the Mississippi Conference. This action called for reducing the number of districts from the current eleven to seven. The realignment will become effective on January 1, 2024. Your church will be a part of district #4, made up of churches formerly in the East and West Jackson Districts.  A link to a map of the conference is provided below so that you can visualize the alignment of the seven new districts, and a list of churches in the #4 district.

Our goal is for the transition to be as smooth as possible. We realize there will be bumps in the road. We also realize that further changes may be necessary as we live into the future of the Mississippi Conference.  But through fervent prayer and a true desire to continue to be the hands and feet of Christ may the Holy Spirit guide us step by step into the Kingdom work we are being called to do.  We, superintendents and district staff, look forward to serving the Almighty God of all creation with you as the New Year begins presenting us with new opportunities. If you have questions, please call your district superintendent."
