My inner peace is a mindset: 

It does not mean to be in a place  

where there is no noise, 

trouble, or hard work. 

It means to be in the midst of those things 

And still feel calm in my heart.

Today, pay attention to the prophetic voices around you. God comes into the world poor & vulnerable - as a baby in a manger, but also in and through the vulnerable members of our community. Who around you is a prophet of our day? What Wisdom do they have to share?

Merciful God,

We pray for peace in this day.

For all who will be born, and for all who will die,

For everyone who is afflicted with pain or loneliness.

We pray for peace in places torn apart by violence,

And for people fleeing into unknown places.

We pray for prophets & peacebuilders around the world,

And for the courage to seek peace in our own lives and communities.

We pray for a time when "Kindness and trust shall meet; justice and peace shall kiss. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and justice shall look down from heaven" (Psalm 85:11-12).
