Green Tip
Please enjoy the following eco-friendly tidbit brought to you by Friends of the Environment:
It's time for Spring cleaning! Some brands toss around words like "eco-friendly" and "green" to describe cleaning products like all-purpose sprays and disinfectants. But there are no specific criteria detailing what eco-friendly or green means when companies add it to a product's packaging. One way to ensure you are buying a truly environmentally friendly product is to look for one of two EPA certifications on the label: Safer Choice applies to cleaning products like all purpose cleaners, dish soap and laundry detergent, and Design for the Environment applies to antimicrobial pesticide products, which include all purpose cleaners, and toilet bowl, tub and tile disinfectants and sanitizers. So let's go Green for Spring Cleaning.

Reminders & Highlights

Dark Sky & Deer Fencing
A reminder to RVR residents, the deadline to remove deer fencing has passed. When  storing deer fencing for the summer season please make sure it’s stored out of sight — from the street and from your neighbors. Whether that means storing the fencing in your basement, attic, crawl space, or offsite from RVR — please find a place for the deer fencing that has no visual impact on the RVR community.
To view the Design Review Guidelines on deer fencing click here.
Additionally, the Town of Carbondale has an exterior lighting code that is designed to preserve the dark night sky. Residential outdoor lights are restricted in brightness and must be pointed down with a limited light arc. This allows us to all enjoy the incredible stars and beauty of the night. We ask that homeowners check your homes exterior lighting to be sure you are in compliance.
