UO EVENTS
  • Today concludes a two-day symposium of events on the Eugene and northeast Portland campuses to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.
  • Registration is open for the Holden Center’s MLK Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 15. Honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. by serving local organizations.
  • New first-year and transfer students are invited to Winter Warm-Up events taking place through Friday, Jan. 12.
  • Provide feedback on transforming the heating infrastructure of the Eugene campus at public outreach forums on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 6:00–7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Jan. 17, 12:30–2:00 p.m. in the EMU Ballroom.

  • The GTFF has issued a strike notice with potential impact on winter term classes, discussion sections, and labs led by graduate employees.
  • Review inclement weather practices to prepare for winter weather.
  • Sign up for winter term Duck Corps to participate in weekly service projects in the Eugene-Springfield area. Registration closes on Friday, Jan. 12.
  • If you’re looking to gain work experience this summer, why not go abroad? Apply by Monday, Jan. 15, for an eight-week summer internship with GlobalWorks International.
  • The City of Eugene’s e-scooter pilot program has ended early due to the organizing company going out of business.

  • The Student Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4:00–6:00 p.m., during winter term.
  • Pick up fruits and vegetables at Trillium Plus Produce Drops on Tuesdays throughout winter term, 2:45–5:00 p.m. in the EMU Amphitheater. Bring your student ID and a reusable bag.
TALKS AND WORKSHOPS
  • Explore opportunities and foster collaborative relationships within the research communities on campus at Demystifying Labs and Research on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. in the EMU Redwood Auditorium.
  • Register for Quack the Code, fifty-minute sessions to help you reflect on fall term and improve your study and time management habits for winter.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS
  • Stay active and have fun with friends. Registration is open for winter term intramural sports leagues and tournaments.
  • New support groups are being offered winter term, including opportunities for Latinx; LGBTQ+; and trans, nonbinary, gender-diverse/expansive students.
