How To Use Telehealth for Client Care

For New Equipment Evaluations

1. If medically appropriate, and if the payer has approved, collectively, the Therapist, NSM ATP and Client will decide if the evaluation will occur in-person with the Therapist, in-person with the ATP, or if all parties will be completely remote. Please note, if the therapist is remote, then they should reference their own facility/organization's payer guidelines regarding billing and payment.
2. In partnership with the Therapist and Client, NSM will schedule an evaluation.
   
3. The NSM ATP will set-up a Microsoft Teams meeting, or other approved platform, with the Therapist for the scheduled evaluation time. A test meeting will be completed between the NSM ATP and Therapist ahead of the Client's evaluation appointment.
4. If the evaluation is conducted where the NSM ATP is remote, and the payer requires in-person involvement with an ATP, an additional in-person appointment will need to be scheduled with the NSM ATP prior to submitting for prior authorization.

3. The NSM ATP will set-up a Microsoft Teams meeting, or other approved platform, with the Therapist for the scheduled delivery time. A test meeting will be completed between the NSM ATP and Therapist ahead of the Client's delivery appointment.
4. If the appointment is being conducted in-person with the Client and the Therapist, NSM will coordinate the delivery of the equipment prior to the scheduled appointment utilizing the curbside method if possible.
