Broadcasters remember former Mid-America Radio owner Dave Keister:
"Dave Keister gave me a chance when I was without a gig, moving from the world of "corporate" radio out in Iowa to a small market, Logansport, Indiana, in the summer of 1999. He allowed me the chance to be a self-starter, do my own thing, and make the WHZR morning show all mine to the best of my creative abilities. It wasn't large or even medium market radio, but the 8 years I spent working for Dave in Logansport and then a bit more at WCBK on an "as needed" basis were some of the most fulfilling of my nearly 4-decade radio career. I owe you a lot, Dave. RIP, Friend." Andy Scott, Retired Broadcaster
"It's easy to give lip service about how nice somebody was when they're gone from us, but, Mr. Keister was a cut above the rest. I had the fortune to meet him through his chief engineer Steve Ross as I would work with Steve occasionally. Mr. Keister always offered up a warm handshake and smile to me and always made me feel like a brother. One impression he left me with in our conversations was that he was never afraid to share his love for Jesus and the Bible (so rare in these days anymore) so that will likely be what I will miss the most about him. To me that speaks volumes about the faith and integrity he had as a Christian and I trust that I learned from him to possess that same quality as well. I think it was easy to tell that Mr. Keister enjoyed broadcasting (along with the engineering) as it was easy for me to relate with him when we were on the subject. Mr. Keister is already missed and I know he is resting in peace." Mike Sienicki, Contract Engineer
