Our Center welcomes two Assistant Professors of Clinical Neurosciences to the clinical team, Andrea Fuentes, M.D. and Amy Lin, M.D. Additionally, Dr. Eshita Shah will continue as a movement disorders fellow for another year, and Dr. Sophia Raefsky began her fellowship training in movement disorders in July. Please say hello if you see them at your upcoming visit to clinic!

"Brain Health and Aging: A Community Symposium" Adriana Gonzalez, LCSW, Clinical Social Worker, Parkinson & Other Movement Disorders Center, Department of Neurosciences, UC San Diego will be a panelist among other cognitive wellness experts.

Dr. Fuentes completed a movement disorders fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. She provides comprehensive care for patients with different types of movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease (PD), atypical parkinsonian disorders, essential tremor, ataxia, dystonia, and chorea.

Dr. Lin completed a two-year movement disorders fellowship at the Parkinson & Other Movement Disorders fellowship training program, University of California, San Diego. Dr. Lin provides care for patients with conditions including Parkinson disease/parkinsonism, tremor, dystonia, chorea, ataxia, and tics.

Join us in welcoming Dr. Raefsky to our movement disorders fellowship program. Dr. Raefsky completed medical school at UC Irvine School of Medicine and recently completed her Neurology residency at UC San Diego.
Welcome back, Dr. Shah! Dr. Shah will complete her fellowship with us in June 2026 at UC San Diego. She completed medical school at Chicago Medical School and residency at UC Irvine School of Medicine.

We are looking for people with PD, DLB, MSA, PSP who are interested in participating in the Amprion study, which has the goal of developing less invasive ways of testing for pathological alpha-synuclein.
The study includes a one-time, 2-hour visit where participants donate 2 vials of blood and a skin punch biopsy. The study compensates each participant $50.00.
