In this issue: do it for the (ana)gram, mask appeal, and doughnuts, oh my!
SP22 - Weeks 3-4: Fungoid vestals edition.
Masking, not telling.
Tritons, we’d like to start by acknowledging your unwavering adherence to on-campus masking and testing regulations over the past few quarters. We know that it’s been a whole lot to navigate, and we truly thank you for doing your part in keeping our community safe.
Best in class. In this current “new normal” phase of the pandemic, we wholly encourage you to keep your personal safety decisions personal – while also adhering to campus guidelines (which dictate that masks must be worn in instructional, clinic, and transit settings) until further notice.
Wastewater, want not-positive.
Regardless of your vaccination status, you need to get tested if:
There’s a positive wastewater notification in your living/learning ‘hood.
Like a month to the fire. Unless you’ve been positive for COVID-19 in the past 30 days, please also get tested:
Both before and after attending a large gathering with others who are unmasked (hi, Sun God – more below!); or
Before visiting with vulnerable or immunocompromised individuals.
In Sun God, we trust you.
After a three-year pandi-sabbatical, the return of Sun God Festival is now just a week away. And we’re well-aware that a safe, in-person gathering of 15K-plus Tritons in the COVID era is aspirational.
Safety thirst. As mentioned above, your demonstrated commitment to community safety is the reason that we’re able to resume such beloved campus traditions. Beyond COVID-19 precautions, please be aware of these Sun God Festival safety considerations.
Quick Hits and Bits
Want $10K while making change in your community? Check out College Corps at UC San Diego – a statewide program offering financial compensation to eligible undergrads.
Symp city. Usage of the daily symptom screener has been pretty low compared to prior quarters, so please, let us remind y’all that screening for symptoms is a requirement – and beyond that, you’ll need a green thumb to get into Sun God.
