Important dates and deadlines |

July 1: Deadline to take online placement & diagnostic exams
- July 7, 1 p.m. CDT:

July 8, 9 a.m. CDT: Class of 2030 course registration begins
- July 31: Deadline to sign the off-campus event waiver
- August 1:
- August 14 & 15: Class of 2030 Move-in
- International students will move in August 13
- Fall varsity athletes have different arrival dates; please check with your head coach for more information
- August 15-22: Orientation
- August 18:
- August 24: First day of classes

September 5: Deadline to submit the Waiver of Insurance Coverage to opt out of the Student Health Insurance Plan
- September 7: Labor Day holiday - no classes
- October 3-6: Fall Break - no classes

November 25-29: Thanksgiving Break - no classes
- December 7: Last day of classes
- December 8-16: Reading period and final exams

Each month this summer, you will need to complete important items to help you prepare for your time at WashU. Some items on the June checklist include:

- Complete the online registration module in Canvas, the university’s online learning management system, before registering for classes in July. Select the module for your school. Note, this step does not apply to students entering the Sam Fox School.

Complete the AI Literacy for the WashU Scholar Canvas module in Canvas by August 1.
- Complete the CliftonStrengths inventory by August 1.

Visit Gallup Access and redeem your unique access code: F4X3D7G6C4M6G3YB
- Register for an account using your WashU email address. After signing in, you will be able to take the assessment; give yourself 30 minutes of uninterrupted time to complete it.
- Take any necessary online placement and diagnostic exams.

Connect with Disability Resources if you require accommodations due to an identified disability or have questions about specific disability-related concerns.

New students can register for fall 2026 courses on Workday beginning Wednesday, July 8 at 9 a.m. CDT.
Your advisor will reach out to schedule a virtual advising meeting by mid-June. You must have your WashU Key and WashU email established to communicate with your advisor. Check your WashU email several times a week to have the most up-to-date information.

Bearprints for Success is a seven‑week, one‑credit course that supports your academic and personal transition through small‑group learning, campus resources, and strategies grounded in the Division of Student Success’ core anchors.
Want to strengthen your voice and perspective? Dialogue Across Difference equips you to navigate challenging conversations about identity, values and free speech with curiosity and respect.
