Dear GW Community,
When considering your benefits, insurance coverage may be for the first thing that comes to mind. But at GW, your well-being goes far beyond just healthcare. From mental health resources and financial wellness tools to fitness programs and work-life balance support, we're committed to helping you thrive - both at work and home.
Our GWell well-being programs are designed to help you stay healthy, manage life’s challenges, and feel supported. Explore resources to tap into support that could help you feel better, save money, and even reduce stress.
This May in honor of mental health month, we encourage you to take some time for yourself. Maybe it's by attending our mental health month events, engaging in our 2025 financial well-being campaign, participating in an EAP Digital Group Support session, exploring Headspace's guided programs, registering for a gym membership, or joining our GWell Chapter Chasers Book Club. No matter how you choose to prioritize well-being, we are here to support you every step of the way.
For questions about any of our benefits programs, please contact us at benefits@gwu.edu.

Mental health is about more than just struggles. It’s about the full range of emotions we all experience, from the highs to the lows and everything in between. The theme for Mental Health Month in 2025 is "Turn Awareness into Action". This theme encourages us all to move beyond simply recognizing the importance of mental health and to take concrete steps to improve our well-being and advocate for change within our community. A few resources with suggestions for actionable items for prioritizing well-being are included below.
Note: If you or anyone you know is in a crisis or may be in danger, please use this contact list to find additional information or to get assistance.

Digital Group Support: Strength Through Community |
|
|
When you are coping with a challenge at home or at work, group support can offer perspective, encouragement, and reassurance that you are not alone. Through the GW Employee Assistance Program (EAP), join virtual, confidential group sessions on various topics such as grief, caregiver support, self-care, stress, and more. During the sessions, you can answer questions, participate in activities, and provide feedback anonymously. Moderators are all licensed mental health clinicians and subject matter experts. To access the sessions, create an account with SupportLinc, GW's EAP vendor partner.
