2019 DRP Tag and Release Award Winners:

We would like to thank Star Rods, Shimano, AFTCO, and the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation for providing strong incentives for fishermen to tag and release small, healthy, dolphinfish for the Dolphinfish Research Program (DRP) in 2019. These premier fishing tackle companies and sponsors of the DRP have shown their commitment to the conservation of this important fishery by donating top quality equipment and art for incentive awards to encourage fishermen to assist the DRP. With their support, each first place winner will receive a custom handcrafted conventional Star Rod with Shimano TLD reel. The Youth Tagger will also receive a signed Guy Harvey lithograph entitled "Dolphin Oasis." Second place award winners will receive either a large Shimano Borona tackle bag or AFTCO fishing apparel and tackle prize pack. Congratulations to our 2019 top taggers!

To qualify for the DRP year-end awards program a vessel needs to tag and release and submit at least 20 tag deployment reports to the DRP by 12.31.2020.

In 2019, anglers part-icipating in the DRP tagged the 3rd highest amount of dolphin ever for the program. Request your kit today to help us beat the all-time high of 2,447 in 2020. This year we are excited to include two circle hook jigs provided by Bird of Prey Fishing tackle in every kit to promote the use of circle hooks while trolling, sight-casting, or bailing dolphin.
