It's been a busy summer in Ayres Hall! In case you missed it, Interim Executive Dean Hinde appointed three inaugural divisional deans and two new associate deans – all of whom are moving into Ayres Hall this month.
Our new divisional deans are Patrick Grzanka, social sciences; Kate Jones, natural sciences and mathematics; and Beauvais Lyons, arts and humanities. Our two new associate deans are Mike Blum, associate dean for research and creative activity; and Liem Tran, associate dean for academic programs. Welcome to the college leadership team!
Todd Moore will continue in his role of associate dean for faculty affairs through the fall semester, and will return to the psychology faculty beginning January 2024. Searches for Todd's successor and for the associate dean for diversity will begin this fall.

While at UT, Alaina Wood (’17) majored in sustainability in order to find solutions for environmental challenges and took courses that set her up for success. Learn about her work educating people about climate change.

Vogiatzis named Bodossaki Distinguished Young Scientist

The award recognizes young Greek scientists for their work in a number of academic fields, including science, applied science and technology, and the social sciences. Read more about Vogiatzis's work in the chemistry department.

Faculty with the Marco Institute marked their partnership with the University of Poitiers with a conference and visits to medieval sites in France this summer. Read more about their visit.

AI Educational Campaign

The College of Arts and Sciences leadership team formed a working group to spearhead an effort to address the challenges of generative AI and ensure academic integrity while leveraging these advanced language models. Faculty are invited to participate in a survey to gauge your knowledge, attitudes, and experiences about ChatGPT and other generative AI platforms. The survey closes August 7.
