Class of 2029 Welcome from TCU President | August 12, 2025 |

| Dear Class of 2029,
Welcome to Tufts and to our Jumbo family! We're all so excited to welcome you to campus and help you begin your journey as Jumbos this fall.
My name is Dhruv Sampat, and I have the honor of serving as your Student Body President this year. In this role, my responsibility is to help foster a campus environment that is welcoming, collaborative, fun, and one that inspires you to become the best version of yourself.
I'm reaching out to let you know that your Student Government––better known as the Tufts Community Union (TCU) Senate––is always here for you. Our 40+ Senators advocate fearlessly on behalf of students, and we're eager to hear about your experiences, answer your questions, and support you in any way we can to make your transition to college smoother.

At Tufts, we have some truly one-of-a-kind spaces waiting for you––whether you're a cheese enthusiast looking to join the legendary Cheese Club, a race car fanatic excited by our Electric Racing Team, or someone eager to find community in cultural organizations like the African Student Organization. And if it doesn't exist yet? We'll help you create it.
As you get settled in, I encourage you to embrace all that your first year has to offer. Say "hi" to that group of people at Dewick, try a new restaurant in Davis Square, join that dance troupe you never imagined yourself in. These are the little leaps that shape your college experience and create lifelong memories and friendships.
I truly can't wait to meet you. We have some exciting events planned during Orientation Week, and chances are you'll run into one of us from Student Government––don't hesitate to introduce yourself! And if there's ever anything I can help with, please feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @dhruv_for_prez or @tufts_senate––I'll always do my best to support you.
Sincerely,
Dhruv Sampat
Tufts Community Union President
