Dear NYU Parents and Families,
The semester is in full swing and campus is abuzz! It has been wonderful to see your students connecting with friends and faculty and exploring all that NYU and NYC offers. Whether your student is just starting at NYU or is close to the finish line — we look forward to being a part of their NYU journey!
For those I've not yet had the privilege of meeting, I am Dr. Rafael Rodriguez, inaugural Dean of Students at NYU, and I lead our parents and families engagement efforts and programming. I am excited to be working in partnership with you to support your student while they are at NYU.
My colleagues and I would like to extend a warm welcome to the new parents and families. Over the summer, our incoming students' families joined the inaugural New Parents & Families Orientation, which included updates on programs and campus news, a six-part webinar series, and events that connected students all over the U.S. and abroad prior to the first day of classes. It was a huge success - we answered hundreds of questions shared by the thousands of parents and family members who participated.
We believe that all of us — students, families, university administrators and faculty — are partners in ensuring our students’ success. We are excited to continue this effort with you through our regular newsletter, webinar series, and campus events. Check out the resources and information on the revamped
Parents & Families webpage, and don't hesitate to
be in touch.
Very truly yours,
Rafael Rodriguez
Associate Vice President and Dean of Students
Division of Student Affairs, NYU
