Hi Everyone, it's starting to feel a lot like Spring, Mini Shredders starts on April 28, I have been chatting with lots of you who have been hitting the trails, and I'm thinking of starting to commute tomorrow so then it will be officially bike season!!!
We have been doing lots of planning for summer. Schedulers will be back in the office from April 28 and supervisors will be back in May 5. Please be patient while we all transition from winter to summer.
As usual lots of info so please take the time to read carefully.

Hi Everyone, I’m doing well and have been busy for rehab here, lot of learning and practicing, having fun with family when they are here. Almost got used to the new normal life. I’m expecting to go back to Whistler early in May. I just wanted to say thank you so much for supporting and thinking of me and my family. My focus has been just to go back to our strong community again and I can belong there.

As you all know I will be stepping away for the summer. I know the Bike School will be in the safe hands of Nadio and Sarah who will be sharing my role while I am away. Huge thank you to them for taking on all the extras!
Chantel and James will be back with Club, Sandy in Dailies and Meesh in adult programs and training. On the support side of things Liv will be heading up the support team and Cynthia will be back in scheduling.
After some amazing interviews and extremely difficult decisions I would like to introduce you to the new members of the Bike School Leadership Team

SCHEDULE TASK:
You will need to click and complete this task but you DO NOT need to actually put in a schedule as we don't use Legion to schedule in Bike School. If you have already done this task, it will not affect your schedule. Please still fill in the survey links sent via email.

LAW VIOLATION QUESTION:
This question will appear if you have a current Criminal Record Check
You need to answer the question to complete Pre Boarding
Have you had a new criminal conviction and/or have you been added to any Sex Offender Registry since last completing a background check for Vail Resorts? Include pleas of "Guilty" or "No Contest." Exclude juvenile offenses and traffic violation. A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment.
The answers to this question is monitored as some roles have different requirements.

You will all have received an email with links to fill out a scheduling survey. This will be specific to the pod selected in your return staff survey. The deadline to fill these out was end of day Monday April 7, so if you haven't done so yet please do so now! If your schedule is still up in the air please reply to the email as to why so we know to follow up with you.
This survey allows us to start building schedules, know how many participants we can have in each season long program and to fill gaps with our new hires.
The schedulers are not yet back in the office so please be patient while I monitor responses.

Back to back seasonal (full time)
A reminder that those with benefits working in the summer, benefits will remain active in the off season. If you are not working many hours you will go into arears for Short Term and Long Term Disability payments. This will be more if you have platinum coverage.
You will have the opportunity to change your coverage for August 1 during the annual reenrollment process.
Summer only (full time)
Summer only staff benefits will start May 1. Remember you need to reenroll - add your dependents or upgrade to platinum as they will reset each time.
Please note that while benefits coverage starts May 1 it can take up to 2 weeks to become active in the Sunlife system. Any appointments used in this time will have to paid out of pocket and then reimbursed once active.

Seasonal Reset on Mental Health Resources
New this year – employees now have access to six mental health sessions per season! These reset for the “summer season” as of April 1st. All employees, dependents and roommates have access to the entire continuum of care that Epic Wellness provides, including clinical sessions (in-person or virtual), renewed access to chat/text based resources and four more coaching sessions.

We will be offering 2 free first aid courses for anyone needing to recert their basic first aid this summer.
Please only sign up for a course if your certification is going to expire this year. I will also send those who we have on file as needing to recert an email.
The course dates are Monday May 4 and Monday June 16. Please sign up using the link below and we will send you more details.
