We are ready to begin notifications and transactions. Please read this message in its entirety as it includes important information for employee notifications, transactions and support resources. |
Hello HR Partners,
I want to start by expressing my sincere gratitude. I recognize this phase of the implementation process requires our HR Partner community to be heavily engaged, as we prepare for the end of the calendar year. Thank you for your partnership, flexibility, and support. Your dedication to our employees, GTHR, and the Institute is seen and appreciated.
Our team will continue to work on Wave 1 implementation through January. You will receive your next HR Partner email update during the week of Jan. 6, 2025.

Proceed with Transactions for Orange Rows
Your Wave 1 Impacted Employee Smartsheet is ready and you can begin entering transactions.
|
- Rows highlighted in orange are “transaction ready.” You can begin to enter job code transactions for these employees.
- A column titled “TRANSACTION APPROVED (through level 5 by WFA)” has been added.
- Once the transaction is approved by Level 5 (WFA), check the transaction approved box. The row will turn gray to indicate the job code transaction is complete.
- DO NOT enter job code transactions for green rows.
These “Wave 1 Ready” jobs are not transaction ready. - Job Codes are actively being created for these jobs. GTHR will update the Job Code field in Smartsheet.
-
You will be notified once your Smartsheet is updated, and transactions for green rows can begin.
-
View the Wave 1 Transactions Guide here. As a reminder, this guidance applies to Wave 1 employees only.

Individual Notifications
All Wave 1 employees will receive a notification email from Georgia Tech Human Resources by end of day, Friday, Dec.20.
|
- Notifications are based on data received by GTHR by close of business Monday, Dec. 16.
-
As we shared in our notification process email last week, the email notification will update employees that (a) their role is moving into an equivalent role in the new job family or (b) their role requires further review and will not change at this time.
-
Resources to support supervisors were also shared this week. These include the Meeting-in-a-box and updated working title guidance.

Additional Critical Information
|
- IT Job Family Career Level Matrix
The IT Job Family Career Level Matrix will be posted on the website by Dec. 31.
- “Not Ready” Employees
Upon our return to office, the GTHR Job Classification team will begin to reach out about employee identified as “Not Ready”. We want to understand the reason for the “Not Ready” identification and begin to navigate forward to ensure they aligned correctly.
- Crosswalk Updates
The GTHR Job Classification team is actively auditing and updating the crosswalk and job profiles to ensure all approved feedback from executive sponsors is captured. As this occurs, you may notice: - Currently published job titles and/or profiles may be updated. We do not expect these updates to change the purpose of the role.
- Additional jobs and profiles will be added to the crosswalk as updates are finalized.
-
The position crosswalk and job profiles are now available on the Job Family & Career Paths website. This crosswalk is being updated in real-time as we finalize the updates.
|
Again, thank you for your continued support and collaboration. I wish you a relaxing, safe and happy holiday break and look forward to continuing our partnership in 2025.
Sincerely,
Cedric Franklin, EdD
