Covid Safety Update
The Omicron variant is causing extraordinarily high numbers of Covid cases within our community and across the state.  As we wait for this new surge to subside the Leadership at Parkway Hills and members who work in healthcare strongly encourage you to wear a mask while gathering in crowds, including at Parkway Hills UMC, regardless of your vaccination status.  Additionally, preschool and elementary-aged children who are able should wear masks as well.  The current recommendation for a mask to be the most effective is N-95, KN-95, or surgical masks.  Social distancing and handwashing are still effective ways to reduce transmission.

If you have not been vaccinated, or have not received the booster, you are encouraged to speak with your doctor about the Covid-19 vaccination, for yourself and your children.

Thank you for doing everything you can to help keep everyone safe and healthy and for aiding in the support of our healthcare workers.

Sincerely,
Bob Abney, Susan Clark, Charles Guess, Mark McLain, Lindsey Norris, Chere Peel, Marc Rolph, Anne Yates

Serving at Grace Place

Joe Williams, playing piano, and Hunter Henderson, pouring coffee, are two of the volunteers last week who served the homeless at Grace Place. PHUMC volunteers go on the first and third Wednesday mornings of each month to Galloway UMC's Grace Place.

New every morning is your love, great God of light,
and all day long you are working for good in our world. Stir up in us a desire to serve you,
to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son,
our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

ReStore, a part of Habitat for Humanity, Mississippi Capital Area

had their grand opening yesterday!

WHAT IS A RESTORE?

The purpose of a ReStore is to resell donated construction and household-related items which are primarily donated by businesses, companies, and individuals. In turn, those items are sold to the public in a retail situation and the profit supports Habitat's work. This will be a new revenue stream to continue Habitat's mission of providing safe, decent, affordable housing to the families we serve.
615 Stonewall Street, Jackson, MS 39213
Sales throughout the store on new and gently used furniture, building supplies and more

Our January Communion Offering supports
Sunday Fund
for Methodist Senior Services

This benevolence fund was created to meet the financial burdens of elders who live on one of our twelve MSS campuses across Mississippi. These are elders who have outlived their resources and can no longer afford the cost of housing or care. No matter how much someone plans and saves, sometimes those plans are dramatically altered by unexpected events which produce overwhelming financial and emotional obstacles.

To learn more about the Sunday Fund, watch this video.
