Welcome Grow Serve Celebrate

Recently two individuals sent me questions about scripture and faith that had been floating around in their heads that for whatever reason, they didn’t feel comfortable asking in a small group setting. Thinking about these questions reminded me of some of my own questions. We all have questions. They come to us at different seasons of life and sometimes just randomly as we are just going about our day. This June as part of our summer worship, we will give space to ask the questions. Throughout the month of May you are invited to send in your questions. Please submit them by May 29 using the link below. Then join us for worship in June as we dive into our questions. Worship will look and feel mostly the same but instead of a sermon a panel of 3 to 4 will reflect on your questions. I look forward to this time of worship and to muddling through the messiness of faith together. Send in those questions here. You know you have them!

PHUMC welcomed Will Grant through infant Baptism Sunday. Shown from left to right are Ross and Stephanie Trusty Johnson, Will's parents John (holding Will) and Brooke Trusty Grant, with brother Jack in front, and grandparents Sheila and Bruce Trusty.

As Will's church family we will embody faith, hope, and love so that Will will learn to trust God and live Love's service in the world. We will pray for him on his journey of discipleship among us.

Graduates are invited to participate in our Baccalaureate Service on May 22. RSVP with Geoff by May 12. This is for high school and college graduates. We would like to have the name of the student, institution and degree/diploma information, as well as three photos from across the ages of the student.

Thanks to Teresa Whitehead, we have a beautiful new summer silk flower arrangement in the Worship Center. If you would like to provide fresh flowers to remember or honor a loved one at a Sunday service, contact Linda in the office and we will order the flowers for you.

PHUMC Women's Ministry Plant Swap at the home of Chere Peel. Friday, May 20 @ 6. Bring a plant to swap, come enjoy some fellowship, and aid us in thinking about next year's women's ministry plans. Sandwiches provided but feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to share. RSVP here.

The May Communion Offering supports the Women's Ministry spring project to provide "Welcome Wagon" baskets to the Methodist Children's Home. Every child that arrives at Methodist Children's Home receives a personalized welcome kit when they arrive. MCH has requested 15 welcome kits. A Signup Genius with a list of needed items can be found here, but you may also give to the May Communion Offering and the Women's Ministry will purchase the needed items and put together the baskets. We will deliver the baskets in June. May Communion offering to date: $277.00
