“Telehealth is here to stay,” says Sandy Greenfield, one of four AV engineers on supporting UCSF’s digital health needs through technological innovation. Sandy, Cliff and teammates John McWalter and Daniel Peterson work in partnership across the UCSF enterprise to deliver the telehealth services that our patients and care providers now depend on.
Tell us about Telehealth at UCSF
Before COVID, a team of two provided support for about 3,000 virtual visits per month, 3% of all visits at UCSF. At the peak in March, telehealth accounted for 62% of non-procedural visits–a record-breaking 50k visits. The numbers have decreased as more services open in person, yet some departments like Psychiatry are still completely online. New technology continues to expand as new buildings come online, like UCSF Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision.
