| We’re Over the Moon! Thank You, St M Community!
We are still starstruck after an incredible Galactic Gala, and it’s all thanks to you! From our generous sponsors and donors to our enthusiastic bidders, volunteers, faculty, and staff, this event was truly out of this world.
Your support, energy, and spirit made for an unforgettable evening and, most importantly, helped raise meaningful support for our students and school. A special thank you to everyone who contributed auction items, hosted experiences, and helped bring the night to life. Because of you, our community continues to shine bright.
We are so grateful to be part of such a remarkable constellation of families and supporters. Thank you for helping us reach new heights!

| Monday Morning Gym: April 13 LOCATION CHANGE
Drop-off will remain at the usual 7:20 a.m. time on Monday morning, April 13, however, the drop-off location will move again to the front of the Perkinson Arts Center (Green Loop). Students will enjoy some fresh air and play outside on the Fake Family Field instead of inside the gym (as we are still cleaning up equipment from Friday's Galactic Gala). Thanks for helping students dress for the weather.

St M Traditions: The History of Magic Dragon Day
Originally known as Field Day, Magic Dragon Day began more than 55 years ago with students competing on Blue and White teams in relays, jump rope activities, and the ever-popular Blue vs. White tug-of-war. By the 1970s, the day expanded to include student art and talent shows, class-sponsored booths, and at one point, hot air balloon rides. (Fun Fact: St M alum and current parent, Laura Hamlin Weiler '96, submitted the name Magic Dragon Day and won the event naming contest when she was a third grade Dragon.)
Today, students and families come out yearly on the first Saturday in May for carnival-type games and activities including class booths, Dragon Cakes, inflatable games, and the beloved Maypole Dance, a rite of passage for kindergarten students to celebrate the start of spring. The Maypole tradition began in 1969 by music teacher Martha Fraher and continues to draw St M alumni to Magic Dragon Day each spring.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, May 2. Stay tuned for an "All You Need To Know About Magic Dragon Day" email which will go out the week of April 27 containing the schedule, parking info, and more.
Go BLUE TEAM! Go WHITE TEAM! Go DRAGONS!

Event Traffic and Neighborhood Infrastructure Repairs May Cause Delays
The Richmond Symphony’s 20th Designer Show House will run April 14–May 10, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., at 3937 Old Gun Road West (near the bottom of the Old Gun “S” curve by the Bellona Arsenal neighborhood).
This month-long event typically draws significant traffic. Families traveling from the Robious Road corridor via Old Gun West to St. Michael’s should plan for possible delays in the afternoons.
Additionally, the City of Richmond is currently conducting infrastructure/water line repairs in the neighborhood (currently at Margate and Duryea Roads). Per the City, this project is expected to last 6–7 months, with periodic road closures and posted detours.
Thank you for planning ahead and allowing extra travel time.
