| The Black Rep presents 'Chicken & Biscuits' |
The St. Louis Black Repertory Company will present “Chicken & Biscuits,” Douglas Lyons’ crowd-pleasing comedy, in Edison Theatre Jan. 10 to 25 (with previews Jan. 8-9).
A funeral is being held for the pastor patriarch of a New Haven church, but the proceedings are threatened by conflict between his two daughters, the prim Baneatta and the raucous Beverly. Add a cast of competing family members, plus one very anxious Jewish boyfriend, and high jinks ensue. This portrait of a family opened in 2020 at the Queens Theatre in the Park in NYC, but the Broadway run was cut short due to the pandemic.
“Chicken & Biscuits is a flat out funny production that offers a family reunion full of love and happiness to start the near,” said Black Rep founder and producing director Ron Himes, the Henry E. Hampton, Jr. Artist-in-Residence in Arts & Sciences. “Chicken & Biscuits offers something that we all need: a good time.”
Tickets are available at theblackrep.org or through the Box Office at 314-534-3807. Reduced pricing is available for seniors, educators, museum staff, students, and groups of 12 or more.
Support for The Black Rep’s 48th Main Stage Season comes from The Berges Family Foundation, Caleres, Missouri Arts Council, the Regional Arts Commission, The Shubert Foundation, the Steward Family Foundation, and Washington University in St. Louis.

| The Women & Engineering Center at WashU invites you to join us for WE Day.
WE Day is a celebration of Women & Engineering, lovingly known as 'WE' because we come together to develop a sense of belonging for everyone — an equitable community where we are all empowered to overcome challenges and thrive.
It brings together students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends to hear engaging TED-style stories. These stories provide insights into the journeys of McKelvey students, who chose engineering, and the resilience of alumni, who’ve overcome challenges to thrive in their career. The program will be followed by a reception, offering an opportunity to connect and network with others passionate about advancing women in engineering.
This event is free, but registration is required. Click here to register.
