New Water Rates Effective Jan. 1, 2024

To account for the increasing cost of repairing and replacing water mains and water treatment materials, water rates will rise by 4.5% in 2024. City Council slashed water rates in 2022, and residents will still enjoy lower water rates when compared to 2021 rates. In 2024, the cost of water for the average resident will rise from $28.41 to $29.69 in the winter when water consumption is at its lowest, and $90.71 to $94.79 in the summer when water consumption is at its highest.

City Restoring Future Open Space Site

The City has started the process of cleaning up and hauling out debris at the derelict property along 92nd Avenue immediately west of Pierce Street. Weather permitting, crews are expected to complete the cleanup before the end of the month. Next spring, Westminster will beautify the area with native vegetation and preserve it as open space for the community's enjoyment.

City Park Pond Update

Today, wildlife experts will begin removing aquatic life from the pond in compliance with state regulations. As part of the City’s commitment to water conservation, we will be transitioning the existing City Park Pond into a reclaimed water storage facility to serve City Park’s irrigation needs. A Reminder About Dog Licensing

A reminder that the City's dog license ordinance was repealed this past summer. Westminster residents in Adams or Jefferson Counties no longer need to pay a dog licensing fee. If you are still getting renewal notices or have questions regarding dog licensing, please contact Foothills Animal Shelter (FAS) at (303) 278-7575. Please note that the City backfilled the license income for FAS with Westminster's general revenue streams so there is no loss of funding to FAS. Learn more.
