"We Asked Our Students..." campaign underway
|
This spring, Middle School Head Heather Robinson and the MS Digital Media Club have teamed with Michael McNeill and the Advancement office to help encourage parent participation in the school’s annual fund. What better way to promote an investment in our school than by hearing about the results of your generosity from our students themselves!
Each year, the annual fund makes up the difference between tuition and the actual cost of running Prep. We are currently about halfway to reaching our goal of 100% parent participation, with a deadline of June 30. Thank you so much to everyone who has already made a gift! If you have not yet done so, please consider making a tax-deductible gift of ANY amount to our school. At the end of the school year, the class with the highest parent participation will win a pizza party! Congratulations to 10th grade parents, currently in the lead at 55%.
|
In the meantime, we hope you'll enjoy this student-made video series about their love of our school and the importance of your investment! You can watch Part 1 and Part 2 now, with more to come. Thank you for supporting Prep!

WATERSHED TAP IS HELPING TO PRESERVE THE SANTA FE RIVER

This year, the Watershed TAP has been working closely with the Santa Fe Watershed Association to help preserve the Santa Fe River. In working with the Association, the group has also learned about invasive species, proper care of vegetation, and how to test water quality. Santa Fe Prep is the official steward of two stretches of the Santa Fe River: Patrick Smith Park on East Alameda and Alto Park on West Alameda. Thank you for your work, Watershedders!

THE PHYSICS OF CANDLE OPTICS
|
In Jocelyne Comstock's Physics 2 class, students are currently studying candle optics. Pictured above, Alex Wohlberg '24 and Abby Furlanetto '24 use a lens to observe a candle image, measuring the distance of the object to the lens and the lens to the image in order to determine the focal length of the lens itself. Note that the image produced of the candle is upside down — this indicates the lens is converging, or convex!

MS. BRESHAUN PERFORMING AT SANTA FE PLAYHOUSE
|
Through the end of March, you can see Prep's very own Breshaun Joyner in performance at Santa Fe Playhouse! Breshaun stars as 16th-century English writer Aphra Behn in Liz Duffy Adams's play Or, — a one-act "what if" account of one night of Aphra Behn's life, in which all of her identities (spy, poet, playwright, and libertine) collide. The play is a Restoration comedy — think British accents, period clothes, bawdy humor, slamming doors, and actors performing multiple roles — and is playing in rep with Born With Teeth, another one-act by Adams. For more information, performance dates, and to purchase tickets, please visit the Santa Fe Playhouse website. Break a leg, Breshaun!
