Suspect Measles?
Isolate, Report to Local Public Health, and Test

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued a Health Advisory following multiple confirmed measles cases in California in recent weeks. To date, eight cases have been reported in California—all linked to international travel. Seven individuals (including an LA County resident) had recently traveled to Asia, and one was a close contact of a traveler.
These cases are not linked to the ongoing outbreak in West Texas and New Mexico, which continues to grow. Several other states, including Oklahoma and Kansas are reporting outbreaks. See the CDC Measles Cases and Outbreaks for confirmed national cases.
Healthcare providers should make sure that patients and healthcare staff are up to date on their measles vaccinations and follow protocols for suspected cases. Visit LAC DPH Provider Measles website for guidance and resources including a checklist for managing patients suspected of having measles.
Report suspected measles cases to Public Health by phone IMMEDIATELY.
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health:
