Hacks & ChopsNatalie Worthy ’25 traveled to Washington, D.C., in June to receive the Congressional Award Gold Medal. To earn the medal, Worthy completed 400 hours of public service, 200 hours of personal development, 200 hours of physical fitness, and spent five days exploring a new culture. Worthy set out to earn the award at the age of 15 and finally completed her hours this year, which included volunteering at a food bank and providing mutual aid to people experiencing homelessness, working toward her vocal performance degree at Puget Sound, participating as a member of the Logger cheer team, and visiting Barcelona, Spain. “My years setting goals and serving my community have taught me to persevere, understand my civic responsibilities, and dedicate time toward my own growth,” Worthy says.
