Next UTA Libraries dean announced

UTA has selected Zheng (John) Wang as the next dean of UTA Libraries. Wang currently serves as the dean of Meriam Library at California State University, Chico. At Meriam Library, Wang guided innovative service model discussions to increase the impacts of his librarians and the library overall.

Texas heat deadly for vulnerable populations

The unrelenting Texas heat is tough on everyone, but especially vulnerable residents, Karen Magruder, UTA assistant professor of social work, told The Dallas Morning News. For people with access to air conditioning and the ability to pay the higher electric bills, the heat wave is mostly annoying. But the heat can be particularly deadly for people like low-income seniors.
