December 5, 2022

Dear Eagle Nation:
I had the pleasure of recognizing dozens of our esteemed and dedicated faculty and staff members during our 2022 Service Awards, on December 1.
Faculty, staff, and administrators during the 2022 Service Awards
It was a joy to celebrate with individuals celebrating milestones in their careers, with 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, and 45 years of service to Coppin State University. During the ceremony, honorees received a citation from the Maryland General Assembly, courtesy of State Senator
Antonio Hayes. Senator Hayes represents District 40, an area which includes Coppin.
Senator Hayes is a friend of, and strong advocate for, Coppin. He will be among the members of the Maryland General Assembly visiting us, later this month, as we host state senators and delegates representing Baltimore, on Wednesday, December 7. We are also looking forward to hosting all of the newest lawmakers to our campus, on December 14. Ahead of the General Assembly session which begins, in Annapolis, on January 11, 2023, these visits provide an opportunity to connect with our campus to learn more about our mission, understand our needs, and how Coppin works to strengthen our city and state.
If you see members of the General Assembly, or any visitor on our campus, please extend a warm welcome, and show them what being a member of Eagle Nation is all about.
