Aurora Gets $820M to Drive Operations Until Autonomous Truck Launch

Aurora Innovation Inc. has announced the close on a sale of $220M in Class A common stock as part of an underwritten public offering, as well as the close of a $600M concurrent private placement deal. The $820M in new capital will enable the company to sustain operations "well into 2025" and beyond the launch of its autonomous trucking product in late 2024, according to Carnegie Mellon alumnus, CEO and co-founder Chris Urmson.

Astrobotic Wins $34.6M for Power Demo Mission on the Moon

| Astrobotic announced today that the company won a $34.6M NASA Tipping Point partnership to demonstrate power transmission on the lunar surface. The award will result in a demonstration on the Moon called LunaGrid-Lite, which will transmit power from a lunar lander to a tethered rover.

Denis Meinert Celebrates Retirement From Duolingo
Denis Meinert retired this past month from Duolingo. On Wednesday July 26th, he celebrated with family, friends and colleagues at Duolingo's Taqueria. Denis was CFO at HB Maynard, ReCaptcha, Blue Belt Technologies, 4Moms and Duolingo. He is a frequent speaker at the Swartz Center and has mentored many of its startups.
