National accreditation for UW-Whitewater Police |
After an intensive three-year review process, the UW-Whitewater Police earned national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), which is widely considered the gold standard in public safety. UW-Whitewater joins UW-Madison as one of two Universities of Wisconsin to achieve the professional status.

Join us this Tuesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. in Roberta's Art Gallery for a special reception featuring artists Gabrielle Javier-Cerulli, Amy Weh, and Gary Warren Niebuhr. Engage with the artists and discover the stories and inspiration behind the exhibit during the artist talk at 6 p.m., enjoy light refreshments from 7-8 p.m., and connect with others in the community.

| Forensics Team Showcase April 24

Watch performances from the nationally competitive UW-Whitewater speech and dramatic performance team on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the University Center’s Summers Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public, and seating is first-come, first-serve. Performances are PG-13.

Commencement ticket pickup starts April 28
|
Are you graduating this May and planning to attend your commencement ceremony? If so, you receive seven commencement wristbands — which serve as entry tickets — to distribute to your guests. Wristbands can be picked up April 28 through May 16 at One Stop, located in University Center room 129 (inside the Warhawk Connection Center) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, or on the day of commencement at the WIlliams Center will-call window. Photo ID is required to pick up wristbands.

Capstran named all-conference in men’s basketball
|
Carter Capstran, a finance major from Franklin and forward on the Warhawk men's basketball team, was named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team for the 2024-25 season.

A total of 84 students are serving as Peer Mentors during the 2024-25 academic year, assisting as resources to students who are new to the university.

Women’s bowling to be represented at USBC national tournament
|
The UW-Whitewater women's bowling team punched its ticket to the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships, which is scheduled for this week in Las Vegas. Jordyn Norvell, a human resource management major from Pleasant Prairie, will represent the Warhawks in the Intercollegiate Singles Championship.

Kudos to Jace Peck, a general business major from Fort Atkinson, who competed in the first stage of the CrossFit season and finished third out of 119,700 participants in the second week of competition. The three-week CrossFit Open is a worldwide event that includes three different workouts to complete. A total of 233,815 people were registered.

Kudos to theatre majors Core Miller of Mount Pleasant and Antonio Parra of Milwaukee, who secured professional performance roles. Miller was hired as an entertainer for the upcoming season at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, and Parra was cast in the ensemble for Bombshell Theatre Company’s production of “The Wedding Singer” for performances from July 31-Aug. 10 at Next Act Theatre in Milwaukee.
