More than 600 Warhawks received degrees Saturday at Kachel Fieldhouse. Proud family and friends gathered to celebrate the achievements of graduating students at the ceremony, which was presided over by Chancellor Corey A. King.

Kudos to Ruth Hansen, assistant professor of management, whose article with Lesley Alborough (Wellcome Trust) was selected as a Journal of Philanthropy and Marketing Editors' Choice for 2023. The article, "Reframing Fundraising Research: The Challenges and Opportunities of Interpretivist Research Practices and Practitioner Researchers in Fundraising Studies," was selected for its discussion of how an interpretivist approach can "illuminate the practice's social and emotional aspects. This approach allows for developing an understanding not only of donors' behaviour, but also that of fundraisers themselves." Read more »
Kudos to Jo Ann Oravec, professor of information technology and supply chain management, who will present a paper at the 81st annual Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Conference on April 4-7, 2024, in Chicago. Her presentation is titled “Artificial Intelligence and Profiling in Lie Detection: Political and Social Implications of ‘Truth Machines.’”

WisBusiness published a story about Todd Loushine, associate professor of occupational and environmental safety and health, and his Safety 481 (Analysis and Design for Safety in Industrial Operations) class, who had an exciting opportunity to work on a real-world safety project during the fall semester. The class worked with alumnus Eric Olson, who serves as director of environment, health, and safety for Johnson Health Tech, to study methods to safely deliver and install heavy exercise equipment. UW-Whitewater was featured in a recent Channel 3000 story about the financial literacy of college students after a recent law that was passed requiring high school students in Wisconsin to study financial literacy as a graduation requirement.
