2024 Dr. Elias S. Hanna Prize for Medicine Call for Nominations. The Hanna Prize for Medicine will be awarded to a student, resident, current faculty member or an SOM Alum for their international humanitarian efforts in the past calendar year. Nominations will be collected until February 26, 2024. Please send your nomination to somawards@tulane.edu.

In collaboration with the Office of the Provost, the Tulane University Innovation Institute is pleased to announce the opening of the Spring 2024 round of the Provost’s Proof of Concept (PPOC) Fund. Tulane awarded $9.2 million NIH contract for innovative oral vaccine development

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has awarded a contract for up to $9.2 million over the next five years to Tulane University to collaborate with Biotech company Q-Vant Biosciences Inc. to develop a promising new platform for oral vaccines that could be used to prevent a variety of infectious diseases.

Elizabeth Norton, PhD, associate professor of microbiology and immunology, will lead the project. Read the full story here.
