Study abroad creates memorable lessons

Lynzie Ferguson’s recent study abroad experience in Busia, Kenya, with her fellow Mavericks was a chance to experience firsthand whether being a traveling social worker is a career she wishes to pursue.
Ferguson was one of 13 Mavericks who, along with School of Social Work faculty members Eusebius Small, Karla Arenas-Itotia, and Tracy Orwig, engaged in a rich exchange of experiences on their trip abroad.

Waffleopolis, an annual highlight of the welcome-back activities that make up Maverick Stampede, continues to grow and thrive. Each year, new and returning students flood Brazos Park and the University Center Mall eager for waffles and ice cream.

The MavExpress ID Office is moving to College Park District at 435 Spaniolo Dr. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Need an ID card now? You can stop by the University Center location during the first two weeks of school. All you need to bring is a government-issued ID.

|
The ridesharing service Via has rebranded to Arlington On-Demand and now requires that passengers download a new app. To learn more and book free rides for students, visit the city of Arlington website.

|
The Office of Talent, Culture, and Inclusion is hosting a one-hour orientation to provide graduate teaching assistants and graduate research assistants an overview of UTA's employee benefits. Register to attend the session in-person at the Maverick Activities Center's Lone Star Auditorium on Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 4 p.m. or virtually Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m.
