UW-Whitewater maintained its standing as the state’s largest university outside of R1 institutions UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee. More than 12,000 Warhawks are enrolled for the second straight year.

Mascot on Main hits Jefferson |
Over the last two years, UW-Whitewater Chancellor Corey King and Willie Warhawk have enjoyed visiting Whitewater businesses as part of Mascot on Main, a celebration of the partnerships between the university and local restaurants, retailers, nonprofits, and other organizations. The duo recently traveled to Jefferson — approximately 14 miles north of Whitewater — to meet with businesses and leaders in the town, including a stop at Fort Community Credit Union.

| “Handle With Care” exhibition + grand opening

Check out the free “Handle with Care” exhibit and grand opening this week at Roberta’s Art Gallery! On display through Oct. 19, the exhibit by alumna Hollyn Brynn Peterson (in photo) explores the lifelong impacts of childhood cancer, trauma, grief, and more through art. Join us for the opening this Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 5-7 p.m., for care card making and an open house starting at 6 p.m.

Nueva York: Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua. 141-147. The essay explores the literary production of Pilar Melero, professor and chair of world languages and cultures.
Kudos to Pam Nowak-Warren, executive director of TRIO and educational opportunity programs, and Roger Yin, professor of information technology and business education, who secured a federal GenCyber grant for summer 2027 programming at UW-Whitewater. Sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), the weeklong, in-person summer camp will provide 25 high school students with hands-on cybersecurity education, introduce them to related “hot jobs,” and develop them into the next generation of the cybersecurity workforce.
