Week of May 30, 2021

Memorial Day Holiday

A friendly reminder that St. Michael's will be CLOSED on Monday, May 31 for Memorial Day.

8th Grade Class Picture and Celebratory Student Cookout (Friday, June 4)

On June 4, eighth grade students will gather to take a class picture, rehearse for the graduation ceremony, and celebrate the conclusion of the school year. Students will partake in a cookout, courtesy of the Development Office, and the students will hear from Mrs. Stargell and Mrs. Coleman about what it means to be an alumnus/a.
ATTIRE: This Friday, students should wear apparel from their intended high school. Students whose intended high school remains uncertain may opt for St. Michael’s spiritwear.  A class photo will be taken.
Class Capsules: St. Michael’s strives to honor its history in meaningful and tangible ways, which includes the filling of class capsules symbolic of the Class of 2021’s time at St M. (For sure there will be a mask in their capsule!) During their class party on June 4, a metal cylinder will be filled with mementos of the students’ choosing, sealed, and displayed in the Middle School. It will then be opened at the class’s ten-year reunion.
Three cheers for our amazing Class of 2021!
St. Michael's wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the following faculty and staff members who joined us for this school year as part of our expanded COVID teaching team. We are grateful for your wholehearted commitment to our students and the school this pandemic year. We send you on to your next endeavors with all of our appreciation and best wishes!

Parents, Please Wear Masks On Campus

Per the Virginia Department of Health, as children under 12 are not yet able to be vaccinated, public and private schools in Virginia will still require staff, students, and visitors to wear masks on school property.
Parents and guests, when you come to St. Michael's, please set the example for your children who are still required to wear masks. Thank you for supporting our full community with your adherence to our mask policy on campus as you attended end-of-year closing events. Thank you!

Nearing the Finish Line

St M recently sent out two important letters outlining plans for grades K-7 closing exercises the week of June 7, as well as eighth grade EXAMS and activities culminating in graduation on June 10. Links to these letters are below. Thanks for reviewing them carefully.
