Welcome to the 7th Edition of Poultry@Sydney!

This Edition will include an introduction to Ph.D Candidate Jojo Mengzhu Wang; an interview with Mr John Harvey - Managing Director of Agrifutures Australia; and a wrap up of APSS 2024.

APSS 2024 Concludes with Record-Breaking Numbers

The Australian Poultry Science Symposium (APSS) 2024 wrapped up its program in February with a resounding success, marking a significant milestone for joint coordinators, Poultry Research Foundation - University of Sydney and WPSA - Australian Branch. Hosted at Sheraton Grand - Sydney Hyde Park, this year's conference shattered previous records, drawing in a record-breaking number of attendees, and receiving an unprecedented volume of paper submissions.

With a staggering 321 attendees from 23 countries across the globe, APSS 2024 became the most well-attended conference in its history. Poultry researchers, post-graduate students, industry experts, producers and stakeholders congregated under one roof to engage in discussions, share insights, and explore the latest advancements in poultry science and technology....

Bringing Industry Experience into her PhD: Introducing Jojo Wang

Jojo Mengzhu Wang is a PhD candidate in poultry nutrition at the Poultry Research Foundation (PRF) of The University of Sydney. Jojo completed her Master’s degree in ruminant nutrition from Shihezi University in China in 2016. During the last year of the degree, she collaborated with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, working on quality assessment of forage samples obtained from all Provinces of China. Her work led to the establishment of a national forage database. Read the full article...

A Chat with Mr John Harvey, AgriFutures Australia

Mr Harvey grew up in the suburbs of Sydney with a passion for agriculture. His introduction/interest began while visiting a family member’s dairy operation near Byron Bay during school holidays. This interest in agriculture led to high school science and then an agricultural science degree in Armidale (BSc., Rural Hons, University of New England). Find out more...
