Summer Assignments/Back to School Forms

Whether you call it the Summer Slide or the Brain Drain, students can lose ground in reading and math over the summer break.

To help our students practice what they learned this year and exercise their brains, St. Michael's will post summer assignments and recommended reading lists for grades 1-8 by JUNE 12 at this LINK. You can also find this information on our website under "Community/Summer-Back to School."

Now that the school year is complete, our team will be finalizing Back to School information. Please check the website in mid-late July for updates and the full 2020-2021 Academic Calendar.

If you have a child in grades 3-8 who plans to participate in intramural or collegiate sports in the coming school year, an athletic participation physical examination form will be needed. Click HERE for the form.

Fall Scenarios Meeting Video

As promised, above please find a recording of the May 28 parent meeting at which Mr. Gregg and the administrative team presented initial scenario plans regarding re-opening for the 2020-21 school year and answered initial parent questions.

We know additional questions remain and St. Michael's will provide additional answers, communications, and details to you throughout the summer as plans progress.

2019/20 Award Recognition

Congratulations to all of our K-7 award winners as announced during Closing Ceremonies.

Summer Administrative Office Hours

St. Michael's will observe summer office hours starting the week of June 8.

Our Administrative Offices will be open Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.
We will be CLOSED ON FRIDAYS during the summer.

Summer Camp-In-A-Box

St M put out an UPDATE last week on Summer Camps and our difficult decisions to cancel all in-person camps.

Our camp team has worked hard to pivot and develop engaging virtual programming to meet family needs and we are excited to launch REMOTE CAMP PROGRAMMING options.

What is Camp-in-a-Box?
Camp-in-a-Box includes 5 days (10 hands on activities + 5 hour-long virtual experiences) of exciting, traditional summer camp fun. All materials are provided in the box to complete each activity. Students should be occupied up to 3 hours per day. Each Camp-in-a-Box is unique to the week!

We have also partnered with ArtHaus Richmond to offer Art-in-a-Box, complete with ONE-ON-ONE virtual art instruction!

It's a Wrap!

This will be our FINAL newsletter of the 2019-20 school year. We will resume again in mid-August. Of course, any pertinent information that needs to be shared with our families will be emailed this summer, especially as it relates to fall re-opening scenarios.

Mr. Hansen has compiled a website with resources for your family, prayer and meditation, ways to help others, 3rd-5th grade religion class resources (optional) and a page to reach about prayer requests or concerns for your family during this time apart. Tune in this summer!
