In this issue: ASAPP sloshy, OOTD, and pun-kins, oh my!
FA21 - Week 5: Crispy chicken edition.
Greetings WWLearnites, We’vers, and WWLinx:
Today’s What We’ve Learned is a short one. We’re currently much more somber than we’d need to be to ‘pump’ out a gourd of spooky puns, given the tragedy that occurred within our Triton community over the weekend.
We’re also making a switch to bi-weekly editions for the rest of the quarter – so you’ll see your favorite newsletter’s favorite newsletter again during Weeks 7 and 9.
And occasionally, so is a lil’ Vid – sloshing around amongst the, well, you know. Here’s the bottom line: when there’s virus in the wastewater where you live or work, it’s akin to a 'possible exposure' warning light.
Who, me? Could be! Look, someone’s got it, and that someone could be you. We did our business (on your business) – now, please do yours by getting testedASAPP: as soon as poop’s positive.
Supportmanteaux.
Now that’s meta (we’re looking at you, Zuck). Similar to fashioning an exotic, multi-layered, functional word out of available parts – taking care of your mental health often requires a bespoke approach.
OOTD, on the daily. While off-the-rack CAPS services are timeless (individual counseling, groups and forums, timely grief support), sometimes you just gotta elevate the ensemble with that new new. Try on Tritons RISE (innovative, experiential programming) for size, or give Let’s Talk (drop-in, 1:1 consultations) a run in your wellness wardrobe.
Quick Hits and Bit(e)s
What’s up, cluckers? Shoutout to the folks behind @CrispyChickenUCSD. All CCS reviews, all the time. All hail the sandwich.
The house always wins. RA/HA selection for the 22-23 academic year kicks off next week, and if you want to apply (for a job with free housing!), you’ll need to attend a mandatory one-hour info session between Nov. 1-10. Email the RA Selection Committee with any Q’s.
