Time Off Request Tips and Transition Time Reminder
|
|
|
|
In preparation for the end of the year, please review the important tips and reminders to ensure your time off is correctly recorded in the Time Reporting System (TRS) for manager approval.
Additionally, as a reminder, transition time, which was introduced on July 1, 2024 with the new vacation time policy is only available through December 31, 2024. Any transition time not used on or before December 31st will be forfeited.

Enhancements to the GW Retirement Plans |

As recently shared, enhancements are coming to the GW retirement plans effective January 2025. While, no action is required at this time, we encourage you to visit go.gwu.edu/fundlineup to review the information shared carefully and learn more about the enhancements, steps you can take, and key dates. QLE Supporting Documentation Accepted During University Holidays |
|
|
|
GW Benefits continues to accept documentation in support of Qualified Life Events (QLE) changes during university breaks and holidays. Documents can be uploaded to the GW Benefits Enrollment System or sent to Benefits via email or fax.
Here are two examples:

An employee with a December 25 deadline to submit a marriage certificate to enroll their spouse in GW benefits, must still observe their deadline despite the university being closed.
-
You or an eligible dependent lose coverage on December 31, 2024. Be sure to submit your supporting document on or before December 31, 2024 if you wish to have GW coverage effective January 1, 2025.

Complimentary Office Massage |

|
|
Faculty and staff can enjoy free seated massages at Foggy Bottom and Virginia Science and Technology campuses on a first come, first served basis. We would like to accommodate as many colleagues as possible, so if you have already received a seated massage in the last few months, we ask that slots for the dates below be reserved for colleagues who have not yet received one.
