Design Student Abigail White Wins 2023 TDK Award |
“It’s a really hard thing to balance design that feels contemporary while also being commercial. [Abigail White's] work is both incredibly well crafted while having a sense of energy. Abigail has found a way to make paperclip packaging exciting and modern, and a speakeasy feel not tired, and a meal delivery service look chic. That’s not easy to do. Bravo.” – Competition judge Alex Center on design Abigail White’s submission.

Exploring the Typographic Universe |
From digital interfaces to motion graphics to print media, typography guides user interactions, defines brand experiences, and conveys complex messages.
Taught by type designer, professor, and associate dean Andrea Herstowski, the Typographic Universe is not a typical introductory type design course. Rather than just learning concepts and guidelines, KU Design students gain critical insights and technical skills by envisioning and building original typographic systems in an immersive studio environment.
