Showcase Continues!

E-visa Startup Atlys Raises $12M

E-visa startup Atlys, founded by CMU alumnus and alumni Innovation Scholar Mohak Nahta, announced that it has raised $12M in a Series A funding round led by Elevation Capital and Peak XV Partners, formerly Sequoia Capital India. The round also saw participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), musical duo Chainsmokers, South Park Commons, Pinterest Founders, among other investors, as per a statement.

Swartz Center Startup D.Sole Accepted Into LifeX
Six startups have recently been accepted into the LifeX accelerator program, including D.Sole, developer of a wearable device for diabetes patients designed to diagnose and evaluate peripheral neuropathy. The company, which works out of the CMU Swartz Center, is co-founded by Saisri Akondi, CMU MIIPS and Zilin Zhang, CMU MRSD. Saisri and Zilin have also been accepted into the MIT The Engine-Blueprint Program and are both 2022-24 James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellows.

IAM Robotics Undergoes Rebranding To Mark
Next Chapter
Founded out of Carnegie Mellon University in 2012, Onward Robotics, previously IAM Robotics, announced it has undergone a name change and branding overhaul that the company said will lead to
"an exciting next chapter" for the firm.

The Swartz Center Hosts The First of 3-City VentureBridge
Demo Day Showcase
The Swartz Center's VentureBridge Demo Day Showcase kicked off in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the CMU Swartz Center. Over 200 attendees filled the space to hear presentations and demos from select VentureBridge alumni startup founders, followed by a reception and networking. 

The next Demo Day event will take place in New York on September 27, 2023 at Rise, created by Barclays.

CSL Corporate Entrepreneurship Forum
Date: November 1-3, 2023

The 2023 Corporate Entrepreneurship Forum will feature a packed program including a day and a half of keynote speakers, expert panels, fireside chats, “Hype vs. Reality, How-To Workshops and startup showcases investigating the latest ideas, innovations and trends in corporate entrepreneurship.

Apply for the CSL Case Competition!

The Corporate Startup Lab (CSL) announces it's second annual All Graduate Student Case Competition. Sponsored by PNC Bank with the theme: Equity in Financial Services: Climate Resilient Housing, student teams will develop creative and entrepreneurial solutions around the intersection of affordable housing and climate resilience/energy solutions for low to moderate
income families. Total prizes of $20K will be awarded with $12K for the first place team. 

The final round will be held on November 1, 2023 and the winners will be announced at the Corporate Entrepreneurship Forum: Artificial Intelligence for Applied Innovation on November 2-3, 2023.

 James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellows Program
Are you a CMU graduate student interested in being a part of a network of entrepreneurially-minded students and furthering your startup dreams? Then the James R. Swartz Fellows program may be for you. Applications are open for the 2023-25 James R. Swartz Entrepreneurial Fellows cohort.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through Sunday, October 15, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET.

 NOTE: Early applications are encouraged. Due to the competitive nature of this program and the limitation of 12-14 slots available, interviews will be based on the strength of the candidate's application and CMU program diversity.
