Staying Safe During Extreme Heat |

Extreme heat can affect both your physical and emotional well-being. Whether you're coping with high temperatures, poor air quality, wildfire smoke, or concerns for family and friends in affected areas, it's important to take steps to stay safe and supported. Visit the HR website to access your Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which offers confidential emotional support and helpful resources for managing stress during challenging situations. You can also explore practical tips for protecting yourself and your loved ones by viewing the Extreme Heat Resource Guide and other emergency preparedness resources available through the EAP.

GW’s 2026 Financial Well-Being Campaign, inspired by the “loud budgeting” movement, encourages you to be intentional and transparent about how you spend, save, and prioritize money. In recognition of the rising living costs and ongoing financial pressures, this campaign aims to normalize open conversations about money, encourage healthy spending boundaries, reduce financial stress, and support more confident financial decision-making.

Plan for the Future with Health Advocate |

Did you know your Health Advocate benefit offers more than healthcare support? In addition to helping you navigate medical claims, find providers, and understand your benefits, Health Advocate also provides resources to help you plan for the future.
As a benefit-eligible GW employee, you are automatically enrolled in Health Advocate at no cost. The program is also available to your spouse, dependents, parents, and parents-in-law, and you do not need to be enrolled in a GW medical plan to use this confidential service.

SimpleTherapy is making it even easier to support your health and movement goals with the new Learning Center, now available in the app. At no cost to GW Medical Plan participants and their covered dependents ages 13 and older, SimpleTherapy offers a growing library of trusted articles, videos, guided courses, and exercise programs covering topics such as pain management, strength, sleep, posture, and daily movement. You'll also receive personalized content recommendations based on your needs and can bookmark your favorite resources to revisit anytime. Log in to the SimpleTherapy app to explore these new features and continue building healthy habits at your own pace.

Meet with GW’s Aetna representative to review outstanding claims and/or ask questions about your medical or dental coverage. After scheduling an appointment, you will receive an email from Aetna to confirm your meeting time.
Note: If an appointment time does not work for you, the Aetna Concierge phone line is available at 844-989-8811, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m. ET to provide personalized 1:1 support.

Complimentary Massage Opportunities |

Faculty and staff can enjoy free seated massages at Foggy Bottom and Virginia Science and Technology campuses on a first come, first served basis. We would like to accommodate as many colleagues as possible, so if you have already received a seated massage in the last few months, we ask that slots for the dates below be reserved for colleagues who have not yet received one.
