Bike School Staff Newsletter 2024 - Summer Edition #6

Hi everyone, hope you got a chance to get some laps in this weekend. It is so great to be back in the park, looking forward to Garbo and Creek adding to the fun times soon. Conditions are awesome right now.

Thank you to all those who have already been working; our mini shredders coaches have been hard at it for a few weeks, with Spring Club starting this weekend. We have had some Privates and a few Intro to Parks going out and a whole heap of training, make sure you sign up.

Remember, it is a long season with lots of time to tick off achievements, take the time to warm up and get the feel back for the bike and the trails.

We hope to see lots of you at the BSO/Meet and Greet on May 30th.

The meet & greet will be after the Bike School Orientation (BSO). Please sign up for the BSO with the Schedulers at wbbikeschedulers@vailresorts.com

Return Staff is a one-day RST (light green) and meets at 9:30am on GBB patio
New Staff is a two-day training with day 1 indoor and day 2 on the trails
Evening RST is for staff working Women’s Night and is on top of your regular RST or New Staff training. Meet at 5pm on Westin patio

We also have some Badge and Elective training scheduled, and you can sign up for these sessions on instructor.snow.com. Keep an eye out as we will be adding some more training sessions including some indoor sessions for yoga, strength and conditioning and assessment/development.

We have a new Skill Based Development/Progression Reference Guide. This is a great resource to help develop your coaching, riding and confidence by understanding what is going to add the most value to your client’s lesson experience (what specific skill should be taught, where and when), how to analyze and provide skills development as well as the tactics and techniques on how to coach effectively. This guide is a living document that will be updated as needed to provide the best resource possible.

This link is for DFX Club lunch orders. Orders need to be placed by 7am daily. We will add in CLC Lunch specials as an option once Dailies starts in June.

Club Lunch Orders

This link is for the Adults/Privates lunch orders, orders need to be in by 9.30am daily. Currently only available on weekends until Dailies starts. Available dates listed at the top of the form.

Adults/Privates Lunch Orders

Uniforms are available to pick up from the Springs now.

The Springs have a list of what everyone is allocated. Please see the list below to see what full time and part time are eligible for. Please speak to your supervisor if you feel the allocation is incorrect.

Full time staff:

- Short - we will allocate 1 to start to ensure everyone gets the size they need
- Pants - we will allocate 1 to start to ensure everyone gets the size they need
- Jerseys - we will allocate 2 to start to ensure everyone gets the size they need
- Gloves

Every other year:

- Rain jacket
- Full face helmet
- Pads (elbows & knees)
- Pack if needed

Part time staff:

- Shorts/Pants - we will allocate 1 to start to ensure everyone gets the size they need
- Jersey - we will allocate 1 to start to ensure everyone gets the size they need
- Gloves

Joel will be starting Bike Mechanic services from May 31st. He will be working on Saturdays only, until we are running full operations, then he will be moving to 5 days/week.
