May is Jewish American History month and
Mental Health Awareness month.

Beginning on Monday, May 12, we will be featuring positive mental health daily on both our Facebook page and Mighty Networks space. We will be sharing tips, inspiration, and acceptance. Please help us to end the stigma against mental health needs.

- Tell Congress to support reparations for slavery and systemic racism.
The ongoing wounds of slavery and more than four centuries of entrenched racial oppression continues to impact every part of American society. H.R. 40 would establish a Commission to Study and Develop Reparations for African Americans. Action Item -
Tell Congress to pass the Countering Antisemitism Act
Antisemitism poses a direct, present threat to the Jewish people and American democracy. The bipartisan Countering Antisemitism Act is the most far-reaching Congressional antisemitism initiative ever. Action Item -
Tell Congress to reform Social Security Income
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) provides a minimum income to older adults and impoverished people with severe disabilities. However, SSI is trapping people in poverty, providing financial assistance that is far below the poverty level. Action Item - Tell Congress to pass a living minimum wage
The cost of living in the United States has long surpassed the minimum wage. An increase to the minimum wage is imperative if we expect people to be able to support themselves with a full-time job. Action Item

| Your sisterhood is entitled to a district speaker
at no cost to your sisterhood.
|
Make a gift to WRJ Northeast District Fund (NDF) to say thank you, happy birthday, mazel tov, or to send get well wishes or condolences to your family members and friends. An acknowledgment will be emailed to each person whose email address is provided.
The NDF enables the Northeast District to support our sisterhoods, women’s groups, and individual members.
